Rangers International FC defeated Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC 2 – 0 on Thursday after the postponed match was eventually concluded at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

It was gathered that a rainstorm had stalled the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 30 showdown between the rivals on Wednesday.

The rain which began 42 minutes into the game and lasted for over an hour, rendered the field water-logged.

The centre referee and the match commissioner had to postpone the second half of the match, after spirited moves to resume play proved unsuccessful.

the Enugu  Rangers had a 1-0 lead in the first half before the downpour disrupted the match.

The goal was scored by midfielder Chiamaka Madu, who converted a pass from his teammate into the net in the 15th minute of play.

The second goal of the match was scored in the 17th minute of the rescheduled second half on Thursday by Ifeanyi George through a penalty kick.

The hard-fighting MFM side struggled without success to register a goal, but ended up losing the match 0-2, the same margin with which they beat Rangers in the first stanza of the league.
